The movie "Charge" is based on the prototype of Yang Gensi, the first "special-grade hero" in New China. It tells the story of Yang Gensi leading the third company to advance from Changjin Lake, around the small hill outside Xiageyu, repelling eight rounds of attacks by the US Marine Corps, and finally, when ammunition was exhausted, fighting to the last two wounded soldiers in the entire platoon. Yang Gensi picked up the last explosive pack and launched a charge, sacrificing his own life to defend the position.
